Like PBS with a laugh track - Sounding Smart is a comedy show where an interview with an actual smart person inspires a freeform two-person improvised fever dream by Eleanor Lewis and Peter Appleby, who are not smart but kind of sound that way sometimes.
Interview subjects can be from a wide range of disciplines (scientists, historians, academics, craftsmen, artists, etc) but all are genuine experts in their field! September 29th's show features Will Field, an expert on the US Decennial Census, how it works, and why it's so important. Peter and Eleanor - also known as The Friendship Club - have been best friends and improv partners for ten years and have performed all over NYC, as well as at comedy festivals throughout the USA and Canada.
